Commerce Department
The growth of any country is based on its commerce and trade. Commerce education plays a very important role in economic growth of a country. Commerce is a composite study of accounts, management, business law, tax, business statistics, human resource management, entrepreneurial development, economics, and business studies. This department provides value based Commerce education to the youngsters to serve the society with right knowledge, good skills and positive attitude. The Commerce Department is a dynamic academic division within an institution that focuses on delivering wide-ranging education in the field of commerce and business. It aims to equip students with practical skills and theoretical knowledge essential for success in the business world. The faculties of commerce emphasizes on providing the students with an in-depth knowledge of concepts of commerce. The faculties are dedicated to create the best professionals, managers and leaders in the commerce field
Gujarati Department
Gujarati Department is an integral department of Jasani College. This department always tries to develop human relations through mother tongue. Literature teaches Indian values and culture helpful for the development of good citizenship. This language is useful for competitive examination. Guidance is provided by learned faculties to students who want to appear in competitive examination, elocution competitions and various jobs. The Department organizes seminars and workshops for the development of the students. The students are motivated to participate actively in self-skilled and self-learning innovative activities
Sociology Department
A sociology department studies social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. This department equips students for a variety of careers like academics, civil services, activism and advocacy. The students are encouraged to acquire critical reading, theoretical insights and research skills. The research areas undertaken by students and faculty members cover wide range of issues of public concern like the effects of economic development on society and culture, problems of weaker sections, gender and society, disaster management, environmental issues, social movements, minority studies, etc. The department has produced innumerable scholars, administrators, professionals, social and political activists. All faculty members participate in academic programs and administrative work through social services to the people.
Economics Department
The Economics Department presently offers subjects in B.A and B.Com programme. The main purposes of economics department is to introduce the basic economic principles, concepts, and theories among students and also to create awareness among them about the Indian as well as world economy through discussion on various current economic issues, up- to-date facts, and leading policy concerns. The department of economics teaches a variety of subjects which comprises; Principle of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Development Economics, Indian economy, International Economics, Managerial economics, Environmental economics, Money and Banking, Public Finance, Fundamental of entrepreneurship and related current issues. Individual capacity building is also carry out through various trainings and Mentorships by the teachers. Organizational capacity building is done by the Department by use of ICT.
Geography department
Geography is part of everyday life and part of our understanding about the world. This department always present with the best hard work to support students within and beyond the syllabus. The student not only gets the opportunity to reveal the subject or rather the ‘man-environment relation’ beyond syllabus. As a result many students were awarded university first. The department feels proud by regular success of the students in academic section and their achievements in different job and higher studied. Field survey and educational tour by the department made student-teacher relationship in a new way. Jasani College is one of the two colleges of Saurasthra University which run geography as a specialized subject.
Psychology Department
Psychology is simply studying and understanding about human behaviours. Department of psychology is a uniquely designed, undergraduate degree program to nurture student’s knowledge of psychological theory, research and practice through a wide variety of course work and field work. The degree programme provides the students with the opportunity to develop an understanding of behaviour and experiences from theoretical perspective. The department of psychology conducts a range of distinctive initiatives and different activities that promotes change and development in the personal and professional personality of the students. The students are taught the subject of social psychology, positive psychology, stress management, development psychology, psychopathology, educational psychology, counselling psychology , among other subjects.
